Yesterday and today, The Henry Project extended its humanitarian efforts by sending out 5 boxes filled with much-needed aid to a remarkable individual known as “The Godmother” in Ukraine. This extraordinary woman resides in one of the dangerously volatile regions in the eastern part of the country that is continuously besieged and monitored. Despite the perilous circumstances, she valiantly supports and organizes aid for four villages situated on the front lines, all within plain view of the occupiers. The Godmother, who is in her 60s, embodies a level of fortitude and resilience that is nothing short of awe-inspiring.
In the face of occupation, The Godmother even resorted to creative tactics like bribing Russian soldiers with treats and snacks to ensure the delivery of vital medicines and supplies to her people through strict checkpoints. Her unwavering courage and steadfastness amidst unrelenting danger epitomize the indomitable spirit of the Ukrainian people, who refuse to be silenced by adversity.
The Henry Project remains steadfast in its commitment to aiding those in need, with The Godmother and the villages she tirelessly supports occupying our top priority. Through our valued partnership with The Spirit of Ukraine Foundation, we successfully dispatched 4 heavy boxes of aid yesterday and an additional large box today to The Godmother. These boxes contain essential items such as hygiene kits, gas stoves, children’s oral care products, feminine hygiene supplies, diapers, blankets, winter clothing, and more.
