As The Henry Project, we recently embarked on a journey to Kharkiv, Ukraine, where we had the privilege of partnering with the remarkable Ukrainian Zion organization, founded by Kharkiv resident Andrii. Our mission was to provide aid to those affected by the Russian invasion and to participate in the heartwarming Ukrainian Zion Family Day activities.
Before our trip, we gathered a vast array of essential hygiene items, including toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, feminine hygiene products, and more. We also collected items for children, such as stuffed animals and arts and crafts supplies. These generous donations allowed us to ship numerous large boxes filled with vital necessities.

One of the highlights of our trip was participating in Ukrainian Zion’s Family Day program at a local church. Andrii organizes this event every Saturday, providing a respite from the harsh realities of war for children and their families. The program is a joyous celebration filled with snacks, movies, games, and other fun activities. It’s a time for families to come together, forget their troubles, and create lasting memories.
The Henry Project was thrilled to contribute to the program by providing snacks and organizing games for the children. Despite the ongoing war, the families of Kharkiv continue to face challenges, including frequent missile attacks and power outages. However, on this day, we were able to put aside our worries and focus on the joy of bringing people together.

During our time in Kharkiv, we faced our own set of challenges. We dealt with air raid alerts, power outages, and water issues. However, despite these obstacles, we were able to create over 50 hygiene kits using funds raised from our donors and items generously donated by volunteers. With Andrii’s help, we coordinated drop-offs to pre-planned locations, delivering these kits to mothers with children. We also purchased small toys and coloring books for the children to take home.
Our mission at The Henry Project has always been to support the people of Ukraine, and our focus on Kharkiv is particularly important. The city is home to many single mothers with children whose husbands are fighting on the front lines. As the Russian invasion pushes closer to Kharkiv, we are committed to doing everything we can to help those affected.

Our journey to Kharkiv was a powerful reminder of the resilience and strength of the Ukrainian people. Despite the challenges they face, they continue to find ways to come together and support one another. We are honored to be a part of this story and look forward to continuing our efforts in supporting those affected by the war.
As we continue our work in Ukraine, we invite you to join us on this journey. Your support can help us provide essential aid to those affected by the war. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those who need it most.
