As many of you already know, The Henry Project has been hard at work finalizing our documentation and coordinating efforts here in Ukraine. We’ve also found some time this summer to take a well-deserved break to recharge our mental and emotional batteries. However, our dedication to our mission never wavers. Recently, we were inspired by the incredible efforts of a remarkable woman named Marina, which prompted us to redouble our efforts in the field.
Marina is a true force of nature. Despite her petite stature, she radiates strength and determination that is nothing short of remarkable. With an unwavering spirit, she rises at the break of dawn and works tirelessly until night falls, embodying the indomitable spirit of those around her. When the urgent need arises to load essential supplies into her van, she doesn’t just go it alone—she mobilizes her friends and family, including her children, to join her in this noble cause. Together, they fill her van with everything from refrigerators and generators to camping stoves and vital necessities, including diapers for the elderly and homebound individuals in need.
Her journey often takes her deep into the heart of Donetsk and beyond, reaching those who are the most vulnerable and in desperate need of assistance, often at great personal risk. In the early days of the war, Marina was known for braving dangerous conditions to deliver fresh fruits and vegetables to families who were taking refuge in bunkers. Her actions showcase not just supply delivery but reflect a profound commitment to uplifting and supporting others in their darkest times.
Marina’s motto, “Let’s work together because that’s how this war will be won,” resonates deeply within the community, igniting a collective spirit of teamwork and resilience. Her call to action inspires everyone around her to come together, underlining the importance of unity in this critical mission.
Thanks to the collaboration between The Henry Project and our partners at the Spirit of Ukraine Foundation, we have been fortunate to provide much-needed aid that includes warm clothing, hand-knitted winter scarves, hats, and essential feminine hygiene products. We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our generous donors and partners—your support is the lifeblood of these efforts. Together, we are making a tangible difference in the lives of the individuals and families who need it most.
